Plan B: A good economy for a good society

31 October 2011:Compass has today published the Plan B report, co-edited by Compass chair Neal Lawson and Landman Economics director Howard Reed. Plan B argues that the UK coalition government's austerity programme is having a disastrous impact on the UK economy and should be abandoned, to be replaced by a programme of emergency measures designed to ensure a viable and sustainable economic recovery.

The Plan B report was trailed by an article on the front page of the Observer and a letter signed by 100 economists, also in the Observer on Sunday 30th October. The Plan B report is available for free download from the Compass website.

The economic case for the remutualisation of Northern Rock

3 April 2011: Landman Economics has today published a report setting out the costs and benefits of converting the nationalised Northern Rock bank into a mutually owned bank rather than privatising it. The report can be downloaded here.

The impact of outsourcing on public service provision (March 2011)

The trade union Unite recently commissioned Landman Economics to conduct new research on the consequences of the Coalition Government's rush to outsource public service provision on the quality and accountability of public services. The report can be downloaded here.

Gingerbread recently published new research from Landman Economics on the impact of the changes to tax credits being introduced this April on the incomes, childcare support and incentives to work of single parents.
